Site C Clean Energy Project – Joint Review Panel Report Issued Publicly

May 8, 2014 – Ottawa/Victoria – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office today released the Report of the Joint Review Panel for the proposed Site C project in British Columbia. The report was submitted to the federal and provincial governments on May 1, 2014.

The Panel was mandated by Canada's Minister of the Environment and the British Columbia Minister of Environment to assess the proposed project's potential environmental, economic, social, heritage and health effects.

Both governments will now review the Panel's findings. The Government of Canada and the Government of British Columbia will each make a determination on the project and the respective decisions under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 and the BC Environmental Assessment Act will be made public within six months.
