The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. A fuel dispensing system located at N-132 Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants (POL) compound is scheduled for removal and replacement and is the focus. N-132 site location was established in 1994-1997 for POL use, there are currently three 75,000-Liter fuel tanks on location. Two of which are used for diesel and the third used for gasoline. One of the diesel tanks is relatively new (1 year old) and the remaining two tanks were used at the old POL site location, are approximately 40 years old. Lot gross area is roughly 20,599 square meters, while physical work to occur within an area of approximately 5,000 square meters, located in the south-central portion of the Site. The fueling station currently consists of 5 stalls with 2 gasoline dispensers and 4 diesel dispensers. The project consists of three phases; the removal of site items (2 of 3 fuel tanks, 5 dispensers, 3 underground pipes, 2 sump pit dispensers and various ancillary above ground items), the installation of 2 new fuel tanks, underground pipes, various above ground upgrades, and site restoration.
