Women's Lodge & Cultural Safe Space – Public Comments Invited

April 4th, 2023Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) must determine whether the proposed Women's Lodge & Cultural Safe Space, located in Kejick, ON is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Iskatewizaagegan #39 Independent First Nation will construct a Women's Lodge for women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ to promote Indigenous cultures and identities. Located adjacent to the community centre, the Women's Lodge will be approximately 5,000 sq. ft.
