Construction of Eight Apartment Buildings – Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden

February 1, 2024 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) is proposing to construct eight six-unit apartment buildings on Somme Blvd., Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden. The Project area is within the CFB Borden CFHA housing area, off an existing roadway and will encompass an approximate area of 1.1 ha. Each apartment complex will include the building, associated parking lot, and storage units and will connect to existing infrastructure including sewers, water, electrical, and communications.
