The Proposed Project

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) plans to relocate the existing Automatic Weather Station (AWS) currently located on a rocky outcropping near the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) light station near Bonilla Island. The relocated station will be installed on top of the hill at the CCG light station near the existing navigation aid. The proposed location will not have an impact to the function of the navigation aid.

The station will consist of three concrete bases to support the instruments and equipment. The depth and design of the concrete bases will be added once geotechnical work has been completed.
