Replacement of Roofing on Operations Station (Ellen Island) and Watchmen Cabin (Hotspring Island)

The cedar shingle roofing on the Watchmen accommodations cabin on Hotspring Island is compromised and requires replacement. There is a known bat maternity roost in the area (roughly 100m away), and bats may possibly be using the roof, soffits, attic, etc. for roosting (unknown at this point, physical inspection pending). The metal roofing on the Ellen Island Operations station leaks and requires replacement. Bats have been observed in the area in the past. Bats may possibly be using the roof, soffits, attic, etc. for roosting (unknown at this point, physical inspection pending). Both roofs will be redone using metal roofing. Because of the possibility that bats may be using these cabins as a "residence", this project will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment.
