Keewatin Air T-216 Hanger - Medevac Facility Addition – Public Comments Invited

 

March 4, 2024 – Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. must determine whether the proposed Keewatin Air T-216 Hanger, Medevac Facility Addition Project at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG), located in Winnipeg, Manitoba is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

 

To help inform this determination, Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

 

The Proposed Project

Keewatin Air proposes to undertake the expansion of T-216 Hangar with a Medevac Facility Addition at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, Winnipeg MB. The project will be a modification of T-216 hangar building with the addition of a 2 Storey, 650 square meter expansion.  The work will provide for Medevac Facility including offices, training rooms, storage rooms, a maintenance shop, washrooms, laundry rooms, internal and external stairs, a two bay ambulance garage, ready rooms, staff lounge, kitchen and occupied areas. 

Work will include new foundations, grade beams, floor slab and building construction of metal clad steel frame with sloped roof with eavestrough to match existing hangar construction. Site works will include building servicing, land drainage modifications, municipal service connections, utility service connections and site civil restorations.

April 3, 2024 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
