The Proposed Project

Equinor (formerly Statoil Canada Ltd.), in partnership with Husky Oil Operations Limited, is proposing to install and operate a floating offshore oil and gas production facility in the Flemish Pass, approximately 450 kilometres east of St. John's, Newfoundland, in the Atlantic Ocean. As proposed, the Bay du Nord Development Project would consist of the offshore construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning, drilling and life of field well support, operations and maintenance, and decommissioning of an oil and gas production installation. The project would be in operation for approximately 30 years, with the potential for additional wells and tie-backs to the production facility.
