Cochrane Hill Gold Project - Public Comments Invited

November 23, 2018 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) has commenced a federal environmental assessment for the proposed Cochrane Hill Gold Project, located northeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Agency invites the public and Indigenous groups to comment on which aspects of the environment may be affected by this project and what should be examined during the environmental assessment, as detailed in the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Guidelines.

All comments received will be considered public. Written comments in either official language must be submitted by December 24, 2018 to:

The Proposed Project

Atlantic Mining NS Corp, a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlantic Gold Corporation, is proposing the construction, operation, decommissioning, and reclamation of an open-pit gold mine located within Guysborough County, approximately 145 kilometres northeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia. As proposed, the Cochrane Hill Gold Project would include an open pit, material storage, site infrastructure, crusher and concentrator facilities, an above-ground tailings management facility, mine site haul roads, and access roads.
