Magino Gold Project — Participant Funding Allocated
January 24, 2019 — The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) allocated a total of $293,780.44 in federal funds between February 2014 and June 2017 to nine recipients to assist their participation in the environmental assessment of the proposed Magino Gold Project, located in northern Ontario.

The funding was made available through the Agency's Participant Funding Program to assist the participation of the public and Indigenous groups in various steps of the environmental assessment. The steps included reviewing and providing comments on the Environmental Impact Statement or on the summary thereof, the draft Environmental Assessment Report and the potential environmental assessment conditions.

The Proposed Project
Prodigy Gold Incorporated, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Argonaut Gold Incorporated, is proposing the construction, operation, decommissioning and abandonment of an open-pit gold mine and metal mill located 14 kilometres south-east of Dubreuilville, Ontario. Mining would occur over 10 years with an ore production capacity of 45 200 tonnes per day. The on-site metal mill would have an ore input capacity of 35 000 tonnes per day and would operate for approximately 12 to 15 years.
