City of Calgary Green Line Maintenance and Storage Facility Project — Public Comments Invited

February 11, 2019 — The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) must decide whether a federal environmental assessment is required for the proposed City of Calgary Green Line Maintenance and Storage Facility Project, located in Calgary, Alberta.

To help inform this decision, the Agency is seeking comments from the public and Indigenous groups on the project and its potential effects on the environment, as described in the summary of the project description.

All comments received will be considered public. Written comments in either official language must be submitted by March 3, 2019 to:

The Proposed Project

The City of Calgary is proposing the construction and operation of a rail yard facility located in Calgary, Alberta. As proposed, the City of Calgary Green Line Maintenance and Storage Facility Project would include 28 rail tracks totaling 17.5 kilometres in length and would include facilities for storage, maintenance, repair, and performance testing of Light Rail Vehicles for the City of Calgary's Green Line LRT Project.
