Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC) Coal Harbour Marina Expansion - Public Comments Invited

June 17, 2020 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC) Coal Harbour Marina Expansion, located in 950 Stanley Park Drive, Vancouver, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Written comments to be received by July 16, 2020.

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

RVYC have proposed the Coal Harbour Marina Expansion Project to expand and upgrade their marina and facilities. The marina is situated within Coal Harbour, immediately to the west of Deadman's Island and east of the Vancouver Rowing Club. Stanley Park is immediately to the north. The proposed project is primarily to expand the marina and increase the water lot lease area by 13.3 per cent to accommodate an additional 47 slips. The total project area is 76,930 metre squared / 828,068 square feet, which includes the water lot expansion area of 9,040 metres squared / 97,306 square feet and the existing water lot of 67,890 metres squared / 730,762 square feet.
