Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Design and Construct CJIRU – Geotechnical and Topographical Study at the 8 Wing Trenton Airfield

February 2, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The proposed geotechnical and topographical investigations, drawings and report will provide information concerning existing conditions and site information for the Quinte West Training Centre construction at the southwest section of the North Property, 8 Wing Trenton. The geotechnical and topographical surveys are to be conducted to provide adequate information to assist the siting, foundations, seismic and design process for the subject new facilities. Project start date will be in the winter of 2020.
