The Proposed Project

The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Oversized Solid Waste and Recycling Depot Project will provide the community with the means to administer the safe and effective disposal of large household waste. The project will see the construction of a temporary oversized waste transfer station on Eagle Lane, just off New Credit Road, to address oversized waste disposal gaps in services. The waste transfer station will be approximately 1,728 sq. meters in size with 183 meters of fencing proposed. Once constructed, this site will only be active twice per year for oversized item disposal. Project activities include: (1) clearing and preparation of the proposed site, (2) construction of an access road, and (3) the installation of fencing and access gates. As there is no local waste disposal or management facilities, the ability to safely and effectively keep the community free of accumulating solid waste is considered an essential and immediate need.
