Pheasant Rump Nakota Nation Solid Waste Transfer Station - Public Comments Invited

September 15, 2021 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Pheasant Rump Nakota Nation Solid Waste Transfer Station, located on Pheasant Rump IR 68 is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project 

Scope of work to include the planning, design, and construction of a new Solid Waste Transfer Station with dimensions of 110m by 130m for the Pheasant Rump Nakota Nation located on NW 19-08-05 W2M.. See the pre-design report and geotechnical investigation for more information.

The project activities are as follows:
- pre-design phase to prepare various design options and choose the most suitable option. 
- design phase to prepare detailed design drawings and tender package. 
- tender phase where the project is tendered and a contractor is selected. 
- construction phase to build the transfer station
- operations phase when the landfill is in use
- decommissioning phase to formally close the landfill
