The Proposed Project

Several construction projects on the naturalized side of the camp are planned to start construction in April 2021, with the inclusion of a utility upgrade. While it is likely not all of these projects requires an assessment, the others are added here because there is a potential that species at risk may use the area, and joint assessment allows for understanding of any cumulative impact.

An ablution building with a 100 m2 footprint will be constructed inside the footprint of a previously existing building. A storage and maintenance building for military vehicles with a 900 m2 footprint will be constructed directly across the road from currently utilized buildings in the same area. This building will include an associated 200 m2 roadway. The area this building will be placed into is currently mowed as a fire break and is not considered high quality habitat. The final project will include the installation of a new prefabricated industry provided vehicle washrack next to an existing building.
