Natural Resources Canada has determined that the Foothills Zone 8 West Path Delivery 2023 Project (the Project) is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. 

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Effects on the biophysical environment resulting from project activities;
• Comments received from the public;
• Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures; and
• Previously conducted environmental assessments of the Project.

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination include those proposed by the Proponent in their filing with the Canada Energy Regulator (CER), and the conditions imposed by the Commission of the CER in approving the Project.

Natural Resources Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects, and thus is able to enter into a right-of-way agreement with the Proponent to undertake this Project.
