Notice – Final Summary of Engagement Activities

July 15th, 2022 – On November 29, 2021, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change issued a response to a request for a regional assessment of infilling activities in Northwest Arm, determining that a regional assessment should not be carried out. In that response, the Minister asked Impact Assessment Agency of Canada officials to coordinate discussions involving applicable federal, provincial, and municipal agencies as well as non-governmental organizations to discuss issues and explore potential means of addressing them through other existing or potential regulatory and planning processes.

The Agency carried out engagement sessions, including individual meetings and a workshop during the winter and spring of 2022, to receive feedback from interested stakeholders and Indigenous groups around infilling activities. The final summary of results of these sessions is now publicly available. With the release of this summary, the Agency has now concluded it's work on this regional assessment request.
