The Proposed Project

The authorites have proposed a project. Naval Radio Station (NRS) Aldergrove is used as a naval radio receiver station operated by the Department of National Defence (DND). A Hydrologic Assessment was recently completed due to flooding being observed adjacent to NRS Aldergrove property, posing risk to Township of Langley infrastructure or nearby residential properties. The Hydrologic Assessment outlined recommendations for a flood and beaver management strategy, including removal of obstructions, beaver dam management (pond leveler installation), culvert repair/replacement and removal of beaver control structures within the Salmon River Area, Circular Antenna Field Area and Bertrand Creek Wetland. DND is proposing to implement these recommendations from the 2022 Hydrologic Assessment as part of this project.
