Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Demolition of Health Services Building N-109 and Building M-012 – Garrison Petawawa

August 24, 2022 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has constructed a new Health Services Centre at 4th Canadian Division Support Base Petawawa. The former Medical Clinic (Building N-109) was originally built in 1971 with a gross area of approximately 6,126 square meters. The former Dental Clinic (Building M-012) was originally built in 1940 with a gross area of approximately 204 square meters. Both buildings will be demolished.
