The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which will include the installation of a two-stage heat pump system, which draws heat from the surrounding air to provide heating to building VC-31. Thermal storage tanks, natural gas boilers and solar panels will be installed to provide a combination of energy sources for the varying energy demands of the building. The work includes installing a sea container north of building VC-31 to house the mechanical equipment and trenching for utilities from that sea container to building VC-31 mechanical room where additional mechanical equipment will be installed. The project includes restoring the utility trench across the grass and roadway.
