The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which involves work execution as well as labour supply, materials and tools necessary for bollards installation to protect transformers that are located in different places of the Canadian Forces Base Bagotville. The work includes excavations to a depth of 1.4 meters with a manual auger. Then, the galvanized steel bollards, which have a diameter of 17 centimeters, will be installed with a length of 1 meter above the ground. Since contaminated soils are found at some areas, actions will need to be taken regarding the excess excavated material disposal. In total, 38 bollards will be installed around 13 transformers and each bollard will generate about 0.3 cubic meters of material.
