The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which consists of the work execution as well as the labor contribution, materials, and tools necessary for the two emergency generators replacement with all the equipment necessary for their proper functioning such as transformers, wiring, pipes, two daily tanks with a capacity of 995 liters and 1098 liters, disconnectors, etc. to increase the energy capacity of CFB Bagotville in the event of an emergency. The work involves dismantling the old generator sets and their respective concrete slab (49 square meters and 62 square meters), their daily tank, as well as the buildings that protect them; to modify underground telecommunications, electricity and oil pipes; build new concrete slabs (82 square meters each) and bases; install new prefabricated buildings to protect the generators with an approximate area of 90 square meters each; install new daily tanks with a 2,250 liters capacity each with the appropriate piping; do the landscaping and the old materials and equipment disposal. There is known contamination on the site so the excavated soils will be managed according to the laws and regulations. Finally, the exterior tank that the two generators are related to (with a 35,000 liters capacity) will not be affected during the work, but the piping will be adapted for connections in the new generators.
