Launch Ramp Reconstruction – Riverton, Manitoba – Public Comments Invited
August 10, 2023 – The Fisheries and Oceans Canada must determine whether the proposed Launch Ramp Reconstruction, located in Riverton, Manitoba is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, the Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours (SCH) is responsible for maintaining a safe and accessible harbour in Riverton, MB. Repairs to the launch ramp at the Riverton Harbour site are required in order to maintain a safe and functioning harbour.
The 20 existing concrete ramp pads and slab will be removed and disposed of off-site. The installation of approximately twenty (20) new pre-cast concrete pads on a descending gradient into the water to create a new launch ramp over the existing footprint. The ramp orientation will be the same as the existing ramp.
The contractor will use a combination of heavy equipment (likely an excavator and skidsteer) and hand tools to complete the repairs.
