Notice of Determination for RM of Shellbrook Gravel Permit
August 30, 2023 - Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed RM of Shellbrook Gravel Permit is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
- By Band Council Resolution and application for permit, Sturgeon Lake First Nation requested that Indigenous Services Canada issue a Sand & Gravel permit to the Rural Municipality of Shellbrook
- No public comments were received concerning the project
- Mitigation measures outlined in operation and restoration plan
Implementation of mitigation measures is required for the project to address:
- All work will be completed in accordance with the Gravel Permit Operational and Restoration Plan
- All equipment and vehicles onsite shall be clean and in good working condition to minimize the potential for releases.
- Waste and hazardous materials are not to be stored on site and disposed of at an authorized disposal facility
Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
