Abegweit First Nation - Scotchfort Subdivision Development – Public Comments Invited

January 23, 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Abegweit First Nation – Scotchfort Subdivision, located in Abegweit First Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The project includes the development of a 26-lot subdivision, located at the Scotchfort Reserve in Abegweit First Nation, PEI. The project footprint will be approximately 8.8 hectares. Activities include grubbing and leveling of site, lateral connections into community water services, watermain extension, driveway culverts, roadway ditches, swales and paving of new roadways
