The Proposed Project

The project consists of installing a new 30 m long outer belt at barrier 48. The baggage will be manually transferred to this belt and injected directly at sorter B. Modifications to the exterior belt with the addition of infrastructure are required to make operations safer, including:

  • A new outer belt with a lightweight shelter to protect luggage and the system from the elements with access to carry out interventions.
  • A new conveyor system to direct baggage to sorter B.
  • Modifications and additions to building services (plumbing, fire protection, heating/cooling, electrical, lighting, fire alarm, etc.) will be required to meet standard clearances and to correct interference with new conveyors.
  • Modification to an existing conveyor.
  • A new ATR (automatic tag reader) to improve system performance.
