Notice of Determination

June 12, 2024 – ADM Aéroports de Montréal has determined that the proposed project for the development of a concrete storage area at YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects by applying the mitigation measures planned for the project.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures listed below;
  • Community knowledge;
  • Indigenous knowledge and impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples.

Mitigation measures considered for this determination are:

Noise environment and air quality

  • Maintain trucks and all machinery in good working order.
  • Shut down engines on gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment when not in use.

Soil quality

  • Characterize the excavated soils.
  • Manage soils in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Water quality

  • Install sediment barriers to prevent the infiltration of suspended solids into the water.
  • Limit the input of sediment to the aquatic environment at all times.

Fauna and flora

  • Ensure that no status species are present on the site at the start of work.
  • Ensure that no nesting birds or active bird's nests are on site before work begins.

Accordingly, ADM Aéroports de Montréal may exercise its powers to enable the project to be carried out.
