The Proposed Project

NAV CANADA is proposing to replace three (3) existing transmitter towers with four (4) 33.71m (110.6 ft) tall towers in an immediately adjacent location to the current location just west of the Edmonton International Airport in Leduc County. The four (4) towers are part of an effort to modernize its technology and improve its network of communication sites at critical locations in order to improve the delivery of air navigation services. The proposed towers will house aviation band antennas (108 MHz – 137 MHz). These towers may have periodic antenna additions or replacements, as required for any Radiocommunication service.
