Notice of Determination

Surrey,  B.C. – August 7, 2024 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Amendment 01 to PER 22-017 – Canola oil transload facility, located at 11060 Elevator Road, Surrey, BC is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

  • Installation of a noise monitor at the nearest representative receptor, prior to commencement of construction outside regular hours, and for the remainder of construction.
  • The requirement to investigate and report out on any noise complaints that might arise, within 5 days of the occurrence.
  • The requirement to submit a noise monitoring report within 60 days of project completion.
  • The distribution of an updated construction notice, and the posting of a fall construction schedule to the project website.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
