NAV CANADA Radiocommunication Antenna Addition in Island Lake, MB - Public Comments Invited

2025-05-29 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Written comments must be submitted by June 29, 2025 to the contact identified on the project page.

The Proposed Project

NAV CANADA is proposing the replacement of three radionavigation towers on Stevenson Island at Island Lake, Manitoba. The towers will be installed to improve its network of communication sites to improve the delivery of air navigation services. The towers will be approximately 30 metres in height and will include one non-directional beacon (NDB) tower and two radiocommunication sites. In the future, the existing towers may have other antennas and other radiocommunication equipment added or replaced.
