Notice of Time Limit Resumption

Ottawa — June 12, 2025 — On June 12, 2025, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) resumed the 180-day time limit for the planning phase under the Impact Assessment Act for the Bruce C Nuclear Project (the project).

The time limit was suspended at the request of Bruce Power (the proponent) to allow for additional engagement activities to occur.  

The proponent provided IAAC with an update on engagement and thereby completed the activity for which it had requested that the time limit be suspended on January 15, 2025. As a result, the 180-day time limit has resumed as of June 12, 2025.

The 180-day time limit is the period of time within which IAAC must provide the proponent with a notice of the commencement of the impact assessment. As of June 12, 2025, there are 69 days remaining in the 180-day time limit.
