Call for Experts, Information and Datasets
What's happening?
July 11, 2025 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC), in collaboration with First Nations partners, is launching a call for expert support and relevant data to inform the Regional Assessment of the St. Lawrence River Area in Quebec.
What we're looking for:
- Pertinent information and datasets relevant to the region
- Experts to collaborate with the regional assessment working group on high-priority topics
Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, organizations, and the public are invited to share their expertise, information, and datasets that could inform the regional assessment. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Environmental, health, cultural, spiritual, social and economic conditions
- Wildlife and wildlife habitat (including birds and species at risk)
- Fish and fish habitat (including species at risk)
- Protected and sensitive areas (existing or proposed)
- Wetlands and other key ecosystems
- Air, water, soil and sediment quality

Deadline to submit:
11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2025
Submissions will be made public on the Regional Assessment webpage on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry (reference number 80913). Any Indigenous Knowledge that is shared in confidence is considered confidential and will not knowingly be, or be permitted to be, disclosed without written consent in accordance with section 119 of the Impact Assessment Act.
What's next?
Submissions will be reviewed, and selected experts will be added to a support pool. Contributors of relevant datasets will be contacted for further discussions.
