Sik-E-Dakh Wastewater System – Public Comments Invited
October 3, 2025 – The authorities must determine whether the proposed Sik-E-Dakh Wastewater System, located in Sik-E-Dakh, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, the authorities are inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The project includes a community sanitary sewer collection system, a lift station, a lagoon based wastewater treatment system and an outfall to the Skeena River. The project is designed for a maximum discharge to the Skeena River of 1359 m3/day. The expected lifespan of the facility is 50 years. The project construction footprint is 115,696m2. The Sikh-E-Dakh (Glen Vowell Band) has applied to Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) for a Fisheries Act Authorization and for funding from Indigenous Services Canada's Community Infrastructure program for the construction of the proposed project. The proposed site for the project is on the Skeena River on Sikh-E-Dakh reserve land.
