The CN rail hub should not be built in Milton in order to protect the environment and the health and safety of the town's residents, workers, and future students. It will be steps from the "protected" Niagara Escarpment, residential neighborhoods, the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, and the future Wilfred Laurier campus on Tremaine. Not only will traffic congestion, noise, and pollution be an issue but so will the safety of residents, cyclists, future students, and motorists. Milton has a unique opportunity to grow and thrive as a sporting (cycling) and educational capital attracting visitors, students, residents, and future workers at the university. Will this be possible when we have to contend with hundreds of trucks on Tremaine every single day?

Milton is also developing a massive park system and those efforts are being undermined by the federal government and CN rail by introducing this major environmental disaster in Milton.

If the CN hub project does go ahead, ignoring the outcry from local residents, town and provincial governments, the least the federal government can do is to ensure the carbon footprint of this operation is negative and not offset elsewhere. Operations at the yard and trucking should be zero emission using EV trucks and locomotives. Make CN invest in the clean future of Milton, just as we are.
