Campground Kiosk Install

This project will entail campground kiosk replacement in an established campground in North Saanich within Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. Work involves removing and replacing the structure and cement footing of the approximately 2m x 5m structure then replacing with new footing and structure. The new kiosk will incorporate culturally appropriate content, selected in consultation with local Nations, and will include Coast Salish carving(s). Equipment includes small excavator, cement mixer and hand tools. Proposed mitigations include having local cultural workers on site during excavation work. Work at the site is planned to occur by April 15 2020. Kiosk replacement is planned to coincide with other campground revitalization activities undertaken by the First Nations Program of Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.
