Questions regarding Ring of Fire

To Whom It May Concern:

I am Carter.B, a student at GRE (Governors-Ranch-Elementary) school, in 4th grade, and I’m writing a prompt to write to an expert on a natural wonder like you, and I picked the Ring of Fire wanting to know more about it. I am very curious about it, and want to know more about it.

I know that the gas given by the volcanoes is toxic to humans, but does it affect fish, and does the water have to do with it? Can that gas go throughout the entire ocean?

I also have the knowledge that most volcanoes harm human things and create islands sometimes, but does the Ring of Fire affect civilization, like the coast of Japan, and
what makes them go off?

Plus, I’ve heard that the Great Barrier Reef is visible from space, but can you see the Ring of Fire from space, or is it invisible from space?

And, like, I’ve heard that a mountain is formed by tectonic plates moving, but is that how volcanoes form, or is it lava moving up and cooling rapidly to form a hill with a hole in the top?
