New Bridge Construction Across Mersey River at Mill Falls

The proposed project will see the construction of a new pedestrian bridge across the Mersey River near Mills Falls. The new bridge will replace a nearby existing pontoon floating bridge which was damaged during Hurricane Dorian in September 2019. The new single span bridge will be 30.5m in length and 1.8m wide. Cast in place concrete abutments will be established on either bank, with a total surface area of ~20m2 . Short sections of new trail (~30m total length) will also be required on the north and south banks to connect the bridge with the adjacent existing trail networks. This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment.
