Beaver Narrows Resort, 433 Beaver Rd, Pigeon Lake, Omemee - Dredge

The overall intent of this project is to remove aquatic vegetation and dredge specified areas to improve navigation and accessibility. This project is anticipated to be completed between Fall 2021 and February 2022.
• Dredging an area 30 m x 250 m = 7500 m². The present depth of the dredge area is 0.9 m, and shall be dredged 0.6 m to a depth of 1.5 m. The total volume of material to be removed will be approximately 4500 m³.
• Dredging shall be completed in the dry by an excavator from land, and/or on a barge. Dredge material shall be collected disposed of offsite at a licensed facility.
• Work shall also involve the removal of submerged logs and aquatic vegetation (approximately 9100 m²). Aquatic plant harvesting shall be completed using a floating harvester with a modified sickle-bar head, removing aquatic vegetation approximately 1 m below the water‘s surface (water depth is approximately 1 – 1.2 m in the aquatic veg harvesting area). Harvested vegetation shall then be collected and disposed of on shore.
• A turbidity curtain shall be installed around the work area.
• Submergent and emergent, dense aquatic vegetation with a soft bottom is present at the site.

This project will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment (BIA).
