Replace Generator Set and Auto Transfer Switch
The project will take place in Hopedale, Newfoundland, a small rural community on the northern coast of Labrador. The Hopedale detachment is located at 11 Government Road and the generator to be replaced is in the detached garage on the property. The garage sits approximately 150m from the Labrador Sea.
Detailed Project Description:
1. The existing emergency generator will be removed including all seven manual transfer switches.
2. A new stand alone, self-enclosed emergency generator will be installed on a concrete pad adjacent the detached garage and duplex #2.
3. The new emergency generator will be rated to 200 kilowatts, 120/240 volts, single phase and 3 wire.
4. The installation of seven new automatic transfer switches (one per building) with the connection to the new emergency generator.
5. The new generator will have a walk-in, weather tight enclosure complete with lighting, ventilation and heating.
6. The new fuel tank for the generator will be mounted in the base of the unit and rated for 72 hours of
continuous operation at 100% load.
