No more nuclear power plants in Canada

It is time to change for our future.

We can have natural & sustainable energy not nuclear.

Doug Ford’s plan to build up to 4 GE-Hitachi nuclear reactors in the Greater Toronto Area doesn’t make sense – from a cost perspective, a radioactive waste perspective and a safety perspective.

Every new nuclear project in Ontario’s history has gone massively over budget.

Wind and solar energy and Quebec waterpower are now our lowest cost sources of new electricity supply.

It makes absolutely no sense to push up our electricity rates by wasting money on high-cost, new nuclear reactors when we have proven, safe and effective solutions that can keep our lights on at less than half the cost.

Ontario needs to start investing in wind and solar energy NOW – not high-cost, new nuclear reactors which will raise our electricity rates.

Ontarians will be much better served with a combination of deep energy efficiency, renewable energy and cooperation with our green power-rich neighbours in Quebec.
