PCA Forty Mile Prescribe Fire

Parks Canada is proposing to complete a 3721 ha prescribed fire located directly to the north of Mt. Norquay within the Forty Mile Creek drainage in Banff National Park. The objective of this prescribed fire is to achieve agency ecological integrity objectives and restore historical fire regimes. The prescribed fire will occur in spring or early fall when conditions meet prescription and may be completed as early as 2023.

December 14, 2022 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
