Xplore Inc., external modification to existing radiocommunications tower on Ermineskin No. 138 reserve land, near Maskwacis, AB.

Xplore Inc. is proposing to add a new 0.6m microwave (dish) antenna to an existing 76m guyed radiocommunications tower on Ermineskin No. 138 reserve land near Maskwacis, AB. The purpose of this new antenna is to provide higher capacity backhaul to improve wireless internet service to the rural residential areas. This tower currently houses several large dish antennas, panel antennas and other smaller communications antennas that support a variety of communication technologies including Wireless Broadband, Land Mobile, PCS and Cellular. This new tower may have periodic antenna additions or replacements, as required for any Radiocommunication service.

2024-02-26 - The public comment period on the project is closed.  Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
