Demolition of the seaplane dock in La Romaine, Quebec

The project consists of removing all existing wood structures, repairing the riprap to be stable for the long term, and decontaminating the soils and sediments.  Specifically, the project consists of:

• Completely demolish all wooden structures;
• Filling the resulting hole with proper sized stone;
• Repair the entire riprap to ensure its long-term stability;
• Remove all contaminated soils and sediments present to meet the remediation requirements. 

The project should be developed with the following in mind:

• The riprap repair work must respect the existing footprint so as not to create encroachment on the marine environment;
• Existing wood structures are creosoted and will need to be managed accordingly (storage, transportation and disposal);
• During construction and once the boardwalk and crib are demolished, the soils and sediments beneath these structures must be characterized as it is not otherwise possible to determine their quality.  If required, contaminated soils and sediments should be removed;
• Contaminated soils and sediments must be properly managed (storage, transportation, disposal).
