Improvement of the Nutashkuan Leisure Offer
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
The Innu First Nation of Nutashkuan wishes to improve the recreational packages to the residents of their community by developing a stimulating living environment that meets the needs of the different age groups in the community. Among things, sports, relaxation, artistic and outdoor activities are targeted. For example, the existing infrastructure (Brad-Shimun Arena) will be reorganized during the summer to allow the practice of indoor volleyball in the space usually occupied by the skating rink, and various areas and facilities will be transformed into a training room (gym, aerobics, yoga, etc.) as well as a multimedia space. In addition, beach volleyball, softball, soccer, dekhockey and a pump track area will be built. Finally, access to existing infrastructure will be improved to allow people with reduced mobility to use the community's public facilities.
