Hopes Advance Mining Project – Public Comments Invited

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency must determine whether a federal environmental assessment is required pursuant to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 for the proposed Hopes Advance Mining Project in Quebec. To assist it in making its decision, the Agency is seeking comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment.

The project proposed by Oceanic Iron Ore Corp. consists of an open-pit iron ore mine located in the Nunavik region in Quebec. The mine would produce approximately 72,000 to 144,000 tonnes of ore per day over a 48-year life span.
