The Proposed Project
Global Container Terminal proposes to conduct maintenance dredging along Berths at the Vanterm facility, located at 1300 Stewart Street, Vancouver. The project consists of dredging an estimated 1,300 m3 from Berths 5 and Berth 6 using barge-mounted clamshell equipment. Dredged material will be loaded onto a flat barge and offloaded for upland disposal at an appropriately licensed facility. Run-off water will be collected in holding tanks on the barge, then tested or treated prior to discharge to an appropriately licensed receiving facility. The dredging is scheduled to commence in Fall and will be conducted for approximately three months.
