Delta Cedar New Pile Installation - Public Comments Invited

January 23, 2020 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed installation of a new pile at Delta Cedar, located in the waterlot of 10104 River Road, Delta, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Applicant proposes to install a single pile in the Fraser River in the waterlot of 10104 River Road, Delta, in response to a request from Worksafe BC. The project consists of the installation of a 0.76 meter diameter steel pipe pole to help secure a barge used for loading logs to the mill for processing. The pile will be installed using a vibratory hammer from a barge.
