Cogswell District Redevelopment Program, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) Activities on Department of National Defence (DND) Property

February 19, 2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project Cogswell District Redevelopment Program, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) Activities on Department of National Defence (DND) Property is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) has initiated a Cogswell District Redevelopment Program that includes a roundabout structure. To facilitate its construction, HRM is proposing to conduct work on Department of National Defence (DND) property at the Dockyard. Proposed activities include building/structure demolition and removal, roadwork and parking lot expansion and building construction. Construction work may also occur at Willow Park.
