Notice of Determination

April 8, 2020 - West Vancouver, B.C..– The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Conveyance for North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant – Project Permit No. 17-090 – Amendment (Condition 51 – Extended Hours) is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples
• Indigenous knowledge
• Community knowledge
• Comments received from the public
• Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

Conditions of Project Permit 17-090 remain unchanged and apply to extended work hours; including:

• All works will be carried out in accordance with the construction environmental management plan
• All works will be carried out in accordance with the construction communications plan
• Notify the port authority of any complaints and responses to any feedback received from the community

Conditions of previous authorizations for extending work hours remain unchanged and apply to extended work hours; including:

• Activities likely to generate excess noise are to be concentrated to daytime hours  to the extent possible

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
